“RE-MEMBERING
THE CHURCH”
The Church of the Red Rocks will continue its 50th Anniversary Year with an
All-Church Picnic, which will follow immediately after the 10:30 worship
service.
Preaching on this special occasion will be Dr. John C. Dorhauer, the Conference
Minister of the Southwest Conference of the United Church of Christ. Rev.
Dorhauer’s sermon is on “Re-Membering the Church.”
Returning as the Liturgist of the service will be Rev. George Ault, the pastor
of the church.
“I am delighted to welcome Dr. Dorhauer back to our pulpit,” says Ault.
“He has preached here on several occasions, and always brings insights from the
Bible which inspire us all.”
The Picnic following worship is open to all comers. An RSVP will be
helpful, but not necessary. The dress will be casual comfortable picnic
clothes. “We will have plenty of salads and desserts, drinks and hot dogs
– something for everybody,” says Ault. “Stay as long as you like, or grab
a hot dog and run. We have no agenda, except to have a great time!”
The kids will also have a waterslide and bouncy hut to enjoy.
This Sunday the church also celebrates Manna Sunday. All members and
visitors are asked to bring non-perishable food items, which will go to the
Sedona Food Bank.
The Church of the Red Rocks is a United Church of Christ (UCC) and Stephen
Ministry Congregation. The UCC cooperates with Presbyterians, Disciples
of Christ, and Moravians in mission and church development. As A church
for all people, the community, visitors and friends are always welcome.
Services are at 8:30 & 10:30 am, with childcare and Sunday School
for children during the 10:30 service.
